Digesting Photo Taking Duck by Taeyoon Choi

It seems that this robot inspired by the famous Digesting Duck. This robot is designed by new media and performance artist Taeyoon Choi. Taeyoon Choi designed this digesting photo taking duck with the ability to take photograph, print the photograph, and with WiFi connection the robot is able to display the photo. In taking the photograph the digesting photo taking duck uses a sensing flash of light that installed on its eye. After it took photograph the printer installed inside its body could process the result directly. Amazingly this digesting photo taking duck is able to upload photo to Flickr with the WiFi connection equipped on it.

Red Snapper Robot Fish

Here is another robot fish that looks like a real fish and swims just like one of them. This robot fish appears like a red snapper fish with its shiny red scale. This red snapper robot fish was built by engineers at the University of Kitakyushu that was led by professor Ikuo Yamamoto. Their red snapper robot fish was developed to explore underwater area. This red snapper robot fish named “Tai-robot-kun” with realistic body made of silicone covered with hand-painted shiny red scale. Tai-robot-kun is given a unique movement system which mimicking a real swimming fish. The propulsion system made on this red snapper robot fish allows the robot fish to swim just like a real swimming fish (check the video bellow).

Custom Robotic Wildlife by Brian Wolslegel

Brian Wolslegel combines technology, creativity, and art to build custom robotic wildlife that looks like the real life animal. The custom robotic wildlife from Wolslegel have been known widely. Brian Wolslegel’s custom robotic wildlife have been used through states in US and provinces in Canada. One of them is used by agencies to decoy illegal wildlife hunter. The interesting fact is that this custom robotic wildlife could also be used for other purposes like equipment for archery, control pest, product display, or hunting decoy. Custom robotic wildlife is a leader in creating and providing custom lifelike robotic animals. They specialized their product by giving a engineering touch.

Lifelike Pollution Detecting Robot Fish

This robot looks like fish and swims like fish. This revolutionary lifelike pollution detecting robot fish is developed by UK scientists. This robot was a special designed robot applied for sea pollution measuring system. The lifelike pollution detecting robot fish equipped with sensors used to detect and measure pollution during its operation. The little chemical sensors placed on the robot are able of detecting hazard materials like chemical spills or fertilizer runoff. This robot is able to send the data back to its control center wirelessly after it measures the pollution. Moreover, the robot system could be used to map the source of hazard chemicals found and impact areas in a real time map.

Decoying Robot Animal for Outdoor Outlaws

In Arizona, US, Game and Fish Department officers have been used a solution to arrest outdoor outlaws for about 20 years. They are using decoying robot animal to snare those illegal hunter. One case happened in dirty road of Arizona where minivan’s driver sticked a rifle to fire on a wild turkey. He didn’t notice that the wild turkey he fired at was a decoying robot animal from Game and Fish Department. He was caught and fined $500 for discharging weapon from his minivan. Arizona Game and Fish Department uses not only wild turkey decoying robot animal but also swimming moose, white-tailed deer, and black bear to snare the outlawers.

Super Elastic Robot Bat Flying Freely

MAVs or Micro Aerial Vehicles are already been known far from present but its still called to be an ilusive underground. There are many idea of creature that could be used on such project like bees or flies for example. But a robotic team from NC State University tried to advance on a new creature, they tried to use bat for the revolutionary MAVs. This super elastic robot bat is a remote controlled robot creature that equipped with fantastic wings which constructed from super construction of metal alloy joints, tiny bones, cartilages, and tendons like a real bat. This super wing’s construction said to be an elastic shape that could always be able to return on its orignial position. Another material also used on this bat robot.

Revolutionary Bionic Feet for Cat

Prosthetic use to be related to human being, but in UK recently known that bionic feet could be used on animal. A cat named Oscar given new feet after its back feet severed by harvester. The one who responsible in operating Oscar was Noel Fitzpatrick. Oscar was given two prosthetic limbs which developed by a team from University College London. This revolutionary bionic feet is a intraosseous transcutaneous amputation prosthetics, a special prosthetic. It is a bioengineered prosthetic leg that able to mimic the bone. This prosthetic is a combination of engineering mechanics with biology which makes it revolutionary. The University team used metal and flange to grow outside skin into tight bone.

Sheep Mower, the Electric Sheep by Osman Khan

This creation is funny where the eating grass animal turned into an electric device and eating grass again. This electric sheep actually is a land mower which turned into an robotic sheep mower called Mower. Mower! Osman Khan is the creator, he was a visiting assistant professor at Carnegie Mellon’s School of Art when he designed this sheep Mower robot. Sheep Mower can be found on the grass at the Phipps Conservatory and Botanical Gardens when it became one of the BigBots for Robot 250. Equipped on this robot are electronical device to support the Mower to act like a real sheep. There are grass-moving device in its mouth, a navigational and obstacle avoidance sensors.

New Sophisticated Harvest Cauliflowers Solution in UK

A new sophisticated harvest cauliflowers solution is being developed in UK. This new solution not only could be applied for cauliflowers but also on lettuces. This new harvest solution is developed by goverment boffins in order to find new way in harvesting cauliflowers and lettuces as the migrant labours who used to harvest it is in droves. As it was stated before that by the falling of some numbers of migrant labours there were increasing numbers of rotting crops because healthy crops couldn’t be harvested at the right time. And it was possible for engineers to create helpful equipment like robotic solution to deal with the decreasing numbers of migrant labours. This new sophisticated harvest cauliflowers solution is able in pulling lettuces and cauliflowers out of the ground and gather it to the counter.

New Zealand Robot Pruning Solution System

Research team at University of Canterbury in New Zealand is developing robot that probably could help holticulture industry. They are developing New Zealand Robot Pruning with DR Richard Green as it leader. With 3 million dollar of fund this team should be able to build an intelligent New Zealand Robot Pruning. This robot team has four years of time to develop New Zealand Robot Pruning system that based on the advanced vision real time of 3D modelling. This New Zealand Robot Pruning will be equipped with cutter to fit with the automatic feature of autonomous pruning system. With the development of this new high-tech prunning system there will be hope of increasement of productivity and reducement of losses.
