Rainbow 5 Extinguishing Fire In Fukushima’s Reactor Number 3

Rainbow 5 is a robot that designed to extinguish fire. This robot is the first robot that developed by Tokyo Fire Department. Unveiled in 1986 this robot designed only to spurt water and used in critical condition. This robot will used to replace human in such critical condition. This robot has been reported helping workers in extinguishing fire in one of the damage reactor at Fukushima. This robot used 800 meter hose to extinguish fire directly in the fuel tank of the reactor. This robot worked in this damage rector about 13 hours. Different models of robot has been used in Fukushima.

iRobot Donated 510 PackBot And 710 Warriors To Japan

It was said that Japanese government has used their Monirobo robots in monitoring the damage nuclear power plant Fukushima Dai-Ichi. It was said also that US military helped the Japanese government by sending their UAV Global Hawk model Block 30 to peek the possible damage of reactor in Fukushima. Beside the UAV US company iRobot donated their robots to help Japanese government to deal with the damage reactor. They donated their iRobot 510 PacBot and two iRobot 710 Warrior robots. These two model iRobot could be helpful robots for Japanese government to monitoring their damage nuclear power plan.

After the 9.0 earthquake stroke Japan the potential danger of catastrophe of nuclear leak from Fukushima nuclear power plan need to be monitored. The potential danger has not been monitored, the potential danger of radiation toward workers becomes the biggest problem. Robots are used to be the first monitoring equipments. Japan used their Manirobo, the Japanese government also used the help from the U.S. military by sending their UAV Global Hawk model Block 30. And what kinds of robot they used in Fukushima Dai-Ichi power plan ? The robot that used in monitoring the radiation in Fukushima nuclear power plan are the Monirobo robots. Monirobo robots developed by Japan’s Nuclear Safety Technology Center associated with Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) after the Tokaimura nuclear accident in 1999. Monirobo robots used to be operated in dangerous radiation environment to replace human. There are red Monirobo and yellow Monirobo. Red Monirobo works to detect radiation while the yellow Monirobo works to collect the dust samples and sensor for flammable gas.
