Human Facial Expressions Robot Learner

This robot can learn how to make realistic human facial expressions. Called as Einstein, this robot creates asymmetric random facial movements to explore face while the computer measures the expression and then has learned expression output. This unique robot head has about 30 facial muscles, each moved by a tiny servo motor connected to the muscle by a string. In the future, researcher from University of California San Diego, Jacobs School of engineering hopes that this robot can help children with autism to improve their social skills.
