Like real human runner, this bipedal robot with knees called as MABEL has agility to run like human. This running robot is project at University of Michigan’s Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science that has a goal to create exoskeletons that enable wheelchair-bound people to walk again or that give rescuers super-human abilities, and powered prosthetic limbs that behave like their biological counterparts. Beside of that, this two legged machine would also have the advantage to make it become future transportation or vehicle that being able to travel over rough terrain. Designed with human-like weight distribution, this bipedal robot with knees running robot has flexible legs with springs that act like tendons.
